Beyond Prague, but Only Just

In early September of 2014, I took a trip to Prague to attend the annual open day of the city’s historic Letňany airfield which marked its 90th anniversary in 2014.

I took the opportunity to purchase a short sight seeing flight which took us over the town of Průhonice, just 6 kilometers south of Prague city limits. Průhonice is home to a chateau and gardens which come under the authority of the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.

Owing to it’s academic nature, the site is not fully open to the public but it does offer space for conferences and is quite popular for weddings.
