“Justice for Zed” Petition

In September of 2016, Zdeněk “Zed” Makar, a Czech national living in the UK was beaten to death in East London.

In spite of the attacker being arrested and confessing to the crime, the Old Bailey court determined that nobody was guilty of the crime and he was allowed to walk free in early April of 2017.

Understandably, this has caused no small diplomatic tension between the Czech Republic and the UK with discussions ongoing between Czech and British officials.

In the meantime, a petition has been set up to put further pressure on the UK and its justice system for answers regarding their decision in the case.

At the time I signed, 182 more signatures were needed to reach the petition goal.
